I have a horseshoe crab that i think died in my tank. I can’t find him, what will it do if he stays in there?

I can not find the horseshoe crab and think he may have buried himself and died. I have gone through the sand and have not found him. I did not want to stir it up completely but my Nitrites and Amonia are up and they wer fine a few days ago. Could this be caused if he died and I can not get him out. If he is dead and under tha sand, what damage will it cause if he can’t be found I have …

Crushed Coral or Aroganite Sand?

Now, I know this question has been asked before, let me tell you why i’m asking it. I have a 55 gallon Saltwater tank at the moment, i’m thinking about upgrading the somewhat near future to a 135 gallon tank. I currently have a small grain crushed coral substrate (It’s small grain, but still a fair size bigger than sand). Also, I know that crushed coral will gather and trap food particles more than sand, etc. I’m asking my question because I have a Horseshoe crab, …

Dead or Alive? (aquarium question)?

Well, 10 minutes ago, I just noticed one of my crabs chewing on something in my saltwater tank. I looked at it clearly, and it was one of my horseshoe crabs! I quickly seperated the crabs, and noticed that the Horseshoe crab wasnt moving. I take it out of the aquarium, and it’s legs aren’t there. I’m just very scared, I love Horseshoes, and I dont know if this is a molted skin, or if they actually ate the inside of my crab….
I desperately need to know…. Im scared of …

Horseshoe Crab?

Well, I just wanted to ask about my Horseshoe Crab I have in my aquarium. It dug itself up in the sand, and hasn’t come out, for about a month. Is this normal? I have a theory it’s molting, but… I’m not sure. Do they spend their life under the sand?
Thank you
@ Scorpia: I’ll try looking for it at night. Thanks!
@ fuzzy_pink_seahorse: It used to move alot through the sand, but now, I can never find him.
@ BIGgourami: I think, but I’m not 100% sure where he is at the …
