If a saltwater fish is rubbing its gills on things, does that mean it has a disease?

I had a parrotfish that was doing this, but exhibited no other signs of disease. However, I couldn’t get it to eat and it eventually dies. Now I have an imperator angelfish. I just saw it doing the same thing. Should I be worried?
