I've actually taken baby powder to gig haha. let me tell ya, if you drink a lot of beer the previous night, then take ephedrine the next night - all those chemicals/sweat will come pouring out of your hands. it’s not as effective. Try either Fast Fret, which comes in a small spray can, or Finger Ease, which is a stick type lube. I've used both and they work pretty dang good. One other thing I do is keep my guitars wiped down with Scott's Liquid Gold. It cleans and preserves wood. Been using it since I can remember, and it makes your guitar shine. Forget powders.
